Calm day in Michigan
Well, calmer then the last week. After the winds of the last week 10-15 mph winds with gusts 25-30 was a break. Been itching to spend a day on the water. The winds had calmed overnight with the temps dipping. Frost on the windows of the truck this morning when we headed out When we launched there was even skim ice in the back bays. Water temps were a solid 40........didn't have high hopes. We fished from 8:30-4 with a jig and plastics under a float couple feet down in 5-6 ft of water with weed structure close to deeper basins. The wind kicked up about 8:31, go figure...But, it turned out to be a decent day all things considered. We boated 5 large-mouth bass, 2 pike and 8 crappie (one of which was a throwback). At least the sun was shining that took the edge off the cold. Even helped the water temp creep up to 42!!! Not as young as I used to be I guess, that breeze wore me out....Warmer less windy days are around the corner.

Good catches. Sounds like an enjoyable trip. Weather should be improving soon.

It's getting to be that time of year. Should be perfect in about a month(for crappie camp)!

Great mixed bag. Got a limit of bluegills this morning. Going to try to beat the rain tomorrow. At least it should be warmer, had ice in the guides early today.

We caught 3 limits in less than 2 hours, light rain. Amazing that there are still so many fish in that area!
