Just wonderin' how others store their tied jigs. I know I have quite a bit invested in tied jigs and just looking how others protect them.

I have quite a few myself, and then I started tying my own a month or so ago. Pretty much I try not to crowd them too much and lay the boxes flat to store. No fancy foam bottom boxes like the fly guys use, but lookin all the time. Have some blocks of polturethane foam that I stick the hook in for a few with hackle and such, but a poor way to carry. Lookin forward to seeing what this turns up.
I had a few old fishing vest a while ago and took the fuzzy patches off the pockets and cut them to fit a plastic plano like tray ,that has removeable dividers inside it.I went crazy and spent a day divideing colors and weights and started putting the hooks into the fuzzy fly holders and aligned them by color and weight,I leave it my storage compartment in the boat,as it is getting heavy, lol.Looks good as long as you put them back in the tray that they are supposed to go into.Just glue the patches down inside the divided tray.I put a label with weight,Like 1/8 oz.,1/16 oz.,you get it,lol.Looks just like a bunch of tied flies, very nice.
Fly boxes are the only way to go. You can get them in pretty large sizes for not too much $$. Otherwise, if you don't keep them in a fixed position, they are likely to lose their shape. I have foam ones, but I'm thinkin' about tryin one o' them "nubby tack" boxes from Cabela's
Ditto OKSJ
The new fly boxes they have now days are great and they aren’t expensive.
Like the clear see through – easy to identify your jigs.

I make my own storage boxes. An old vhs video box or game box works great but you could use anything.Just take a swimming pool noodle and cut to size then draw your lines on it and cut each piece in a V shape.Make them as thick or thin as you need them.Razorblade works great for this.

Hot glue them in the box in a step pattern.

I have alot of these made up with different flies in them and have just started making them for my jigs. You can put a label on the back and store them on a shelf or it makes them easy to sort through in a tackle bag or boat box.
SteveW - Now thats using your noodle! :p I have made my own boxes for flies and jigs, I also use foam, but my way is by far not that simple!!! Thank you very much for posting..... don't think my kids will ever miss a few inches off their noodle.... :D
Great idea. I see noodles along the road all the time that have blown out of a boat or something. I'll be trying that soon.
thats a good idea sir i'm gonna make some
