You are such a _______!
I read the forums throughout the day and it pains me as I am at work and my engine is down. And, I went out to Site M after work tonight to look for what you already found (Morels) and the woods were barren, or, at least where I looked! But this rain ought to set them off!
Congrats!
One last question, what lake were you on??
-
Nice looking bunch of crappie..Eight foot water in the trees..I was on horseshoe one time and didn't see anything deeper than a few feet..I am not sure where those trees are at?..
I guess I will have to do some searching next time I am the shoe..

Man that sounds good, fish and shrooms!! I can feel my veins clogging from all that grease now!! lol! Nice mess of both!!

Were you at Horseshoe by Granite City or the other Horsehoe Lake in Southern IL? Also, if you were at the lake by Granite City, are the fish safe to eat? That is the closest lake to our house but we have been afraid to eat the fish!
Thanks for the information!

jcd---look a little closer at his post. Says 8 inches not 8 feet. lol

I am pretty sure the crappie and other fish are safe to eat...Besides catfish?...I could be wrong on this?...I think another person posted this under a horseshoe post.

Ya jcd 8 inches in the tree's.. And way up in the tree's not on the outter edges. I bet I looked kinda funny at times yesterday tryin to get some of them slabs out of the limbs, but it was a great time :D
And yes I was at the Horseshoe in Granite City with good ole US Steel as a backdrop. As far as eating the fish, ya I eat them all the time and so do my family and friends, but only the crappie and bill ole gill every once in awhile. I would not eat the rough fish, but see people everyday catching and keeping buffalo, carp and big ole cats. There were only 2 other boats on the lake all day, was nice and quiet. When I left at 2:00 there were 3 boats at the bait shack getting minnows, so I bet it got a little more crowded for the evening bite.
