Santee Conditions?

Buddy and I went to Blacks Camp last month, bad weekend choice weather wise. Lots of rain beforehand and wind. Wind kept us off the lakes and so, thinking Catfish out of the wind, the canal was running like a river. Almost impossible to fish.
Planned another weekend, upcoming this week and weather forecast is "iffy" for wind.

Just wondering, if the canal is still pouring through there at 100mph or is it a little more fishable. Anyone been around there this week?
Any reports, info, or unsubstantiated rumors?
Catfish?
Shellcrackers?
Crappie?

Nobody been around the canal lately that can give me some idea on water conditions to expect?

Santeecooper.com and locate the page that list discharge schedule. If both plants are running, then it's flowing too fast for my liking. Currently Jefferies is scheduled to run 12pm to midnight Saturday and St. Stephens isn't scheduled to run. These are conditions I like to see for a drifting and anchoring in the canal.

A little late, but lake conditions continue to improve. Catfish and Shellcracker have been on fire this week. I did limit twice this week on crappie, but fishing remains very inconsistent and unpredictable day to day.

Saturday was sunny hot and a bit slow, just didn't find them in the lake. Well, I SAW them on the chart but they weren't very interested. But in spite of the earlier forecast for wind, Moultrie was uncharacteristically calm so I couldn't resist pulling a creek channel and some humps but that only produced one 12 pounder.
Overnight the nasty weather moved in. With the wind, the canal was my only choice. Sunday and Monday mornings I ended up catching and releasing 15 Blues, all in the teens, the best 20 1/4 lbs. Also 9 Channel Cats 3-5 lbs with one 8. Seemed to really slow by early afternoon. I kept one Blue to eat, everything else released, otherwise I would have had to have a neighborhood fish fry!
Never had time to really go after Shellcrackers though I did catch a fine one trying to catch some Bluegills for bait.
These darn big Blue catfish have gotten under my skin & distracting me from the panfish!
