Should I move my transducer on my old boat. it's a ranger and as you can see it has 3 tiers. should it move to the X possibly? I don't seem to get good readings on si or even di.

TO ME NEITHER PLACE IS GOOD UNLESS YOU GO REAL SLOW,BOTH PLACES WILL TRAP AIR,IS THERE ROOM AT ONE SIDE THAT IS FLAT WITH NO STEPUPS? I WOULD GLUE A FLAT OBJECT TO BOAT AND MOUNT IT TO THE OBJECT TILL YOU CAN FIND A PLACE WITHOUT DRILLING MORE HOLES,MAY COULD GET A FRIEND TO HOLD IT ON A STICK AND NOT GO FAST TILL YOU FIND A PLACE.IF I HAD TO I WOULD FIBERGLASS A SECTION OF STEP UP LEVEL,THEN MOUNT IT BEHIND IT.MAYBE SOMEONE HAS A BOAT LIKE THAT WHO HAS A BETTER IDEA
Can you also post some screenshots of what seems to be bad imaging to you ...??

Let's see a pic of your motor in that area also, please. From the side.

I'm not sure how it rotated pic or how to fix it.
The bad imaging I guess isn't so much interferences but I fish truman lake and it has a ton of structure yet I hardly pick anything up on si or di. I have a hb helix 7.
anyone else? thanks
A couple of the most frequent issues I see with my Sonar class Students is ..:
*Scanning too fast for the xducer location (water turbulence) ...
*Chart speed too fast (match Chart speed to boat speed) ...
Screenshots may give clues if you can post some ...
