Finally pushed the button on the HB 998c HD SI. Practical experience opinions would be greatly appreciated. Still shopping for a unit for the bow and considering going with a Terrova somewhere down the line.
Best regards,

Best regards,
I'm in the same boat. My research indicates that lake master does not have the lakes that I fish even though I like a lot of the features that are unique to LM. I am leaning towrd navionics myself, but i would be interested to hear what others have to say.
Never messed with the Lakemaster but have had a couple of the Navionics and really like mine...does everything I want it to and is pretty accurate in the spots I fish.
I bought my Navionics card for the exact reason mentioned above... the available lakes. A few years ago I was looking for a map that was better than the base map on my 997. Half of the places I would be running would show up as dry ground on the base map that came with the unit. Navionics had many lakes in Florida but it only had 4 lakes in Alabama. I contacted them to ask why and they basically said nobody had asked for them. They said if I could provide them with information about the lakes and show documentation showing that tournaments were held on the body of water, they would add the lake to the list of updates for the next year. I provided them the information they requested and the next year the two main lakes that I fish were added to the card. They listened so I bought their product. I have been very pleased with both my Hotmaps card and my Platinum+ saltwater card I use on my Gulf boat. The Navionics card is a good product that I am happy with.
navionics is the only way to go!!!!!
If you are considering an IPilot Link then Lakemaster is the best choice to get the follow the contour feature.......I also lake the lake level offset and depth highlight features of Lakemaster. I resort to Navionics when I cannot get coverages from Lakemaster........Both are good products..........but for the full functionality with the trolling motor I prefer Lakemaster when I can get it........
I currently have navionics, it works great!! Would like to have lake master to go with my ipilot link, but it doesn't cover half the lakes I fish!
