I live on Lake Conroe and mainly fish for crappie.
Report for 4/30/11
Wind is a beast and has been for a month it seems and crappie fishing is a bit slow still. We ended up Saturday with these 12 crappie.

Nothing wrong with them!
nice...
You did good with the winds we are having.
It has been years since I fished Conroe. They catch a lot of catfish this time of the year there. Wind, shoot I have not had to get a hair cut in two months because the wind keeps it blow off my head, I can't keep a hat on.
Use some superglue to keep your hair on or use a safety pin and pin your cap to your head! Actually surprised you still have hair with your next door neighbor! hahaha
Like WPJ said, been years since I fished Conroe and the last time was with my Dad back in either 80 or 81 when the lake was still full of hydrilla. During Springbreak, any stick-ups that were exposed you could hammer the crappie at any of them with Roadrunners or shiners. Dang, I remember that trip like it was yesterday! Fun & great times/memories of my father!
Crappie fishing on Lake Conroe is great. Here is a picture of a catch we had about a week ago on 5-4-11.Attachment 61761
The stumps still hold them slimers.
