Truman Experts
Fished Truman for the first time in 6 years or so this weekend. Why is the water so clear? We were above Bucksaw past Pretty Bob creek and had 4 to 5 foot visibility. Felt like I was at Stockton. IS there any part of Truman that has some color to the water?

C'mon fellas. Lotsof looks and no comments. Anyone got any ideas as to why the water is so clear?

high water, no rain = clear water. the higher water filters out faster

it's always clear in july, heat causes the partacles to accelerate at a higher rate and as they colide they stick togather and get larger and fall to the bottom (as bob stated) this in turn picks up more partacles in the water and they gather on the bottom of the lake and roll the bottom flat, letting the water flow smother, thus causing a phenoman known localy and rollypollie dopler effect, that in turn clears up the water, and this time of year that is about the only thing that is clear on here

When the lake stays high for over a month, the Green leaves from the Willow trees filter out the muddy water. If it was normal pool it would be stained.
-
Fished otter creek today and it was more stained than other parts of the lake. I had about a foot of visibility.
-
I would add the fact they are just now drawing water after almost a month. The upper ends got pretty stained but as mentioned has settled.

They start pulling water hard it will dirty up some. It does not seem to bother the fish any. We laid the smack down on Sunday down from Bucksaw in some real clear water. Could watch some of the fish hit the bait.

Glad to hear you finally got out, Jared. The back must be feeling better?
