It’s fun to catch any fish but for sure they would wear my arm out!
We fish for them at different times. Getting into a school of them can be a blast with the grandsons. I like finding them schooled because they will bite about anything the boys throw at them.

in the summer very early in the morning they come up in schools on the surface that are the size of football fields here .
and they will hit anything that is in the water when it occurs , if you want the big ones , toss a large diving bait and run it under the school ....the really big ones tend to be under the pack in the feeding frenzies .
I agree we throw 1/2 and 3/4 oz. Hopkins spoons and Slab spoons as far as we can can, let them sink and jig them back through the school. Then the fight is on.

Big Roostertails and blade baits are killers too. Who am I kidding they will eat anything when schooled.

These little fish are one of my favorites to ear. Delicious.
Certainly a blast to catch
We had a school blow up near us yesterday at High Rock Lake. Before they moved on we had over 20. That's a lot of fun on 4 lb test and dock shooting gear!!!
Certainly is fun though
