Ever fell out of boat
As I recall, this was years ago and one of the last times I fished with my dad. We were bank beating and hitting downed trees in a small Louisiana bayou. These bayous down here have a lot of leaning and low hanging willows. I always tried to cast as close to the base as possible, I was in the front and threw right into what I thought was perfect. However I hung the bait. Looking at it, appeared I could get close enough to get it loose. As I got close, my dad was still fishing towards the other side of the tree. I was almost there and decided to lean on a tree branch. This tree had been down a while. You ever have one of those seconds that seem to last a while and all kinds of thoughts pass through your head. That was what I experienced when I heard the branch crack and felt the sideways movement. Seemed to take a minute, but probably only a second before I fell in. Lucky did not hit anything except water. Came up and my dad was still fishing. Did not even stand up. Did he ask if I needed help? No, he said "you gonna get in so we can move?" I finally climbed back in with no help and dangit I had broke off the jig. At least my rod fell in the boat. HAHAHA True story. You guys add yours. "D"
ps: he was pretty old then, which was why it was one of the last times. I wish I could go with him one more time.

Nope. But I fell in a boat one time it was a catastrophic event. Took my dad fishing in my 2013 ranger Comanche 520z one sunny afternoon. We arrived at ramp pulling said ranger in a 2018 Chevy express work van with a 6.0 v8. Loved how that motor pulled!!!! Yassa. So we pull up to double ramp with one slot full from boat pulling out. I spin around and back within 25’ of water on the ramp. We get out to get ready to launch and my dad has to help remove straps. I normally do that by myself but said ok. So I unhook front and the gentleman pulling out stops close to us and starts talking to us. So he tells us how his day went and on and on. I get in a hurry to launch. Tells him we have to get going dark is approaching. So I tell dad to back me in. When I felt the boat start to float I gas it with the hot foot and the boat turns 90 degrees on trailer before I realize what has happened. I Hollar for my dad to be still don’t move van and proceed to get up and and evaluate the situation. Yerp he missed the passenger side strap when getting distracted by gentleman talking to us. And I being in a hurry failed to check behind him. I don’t remember exactly how it went down. But I was working the boat back around straight and getting up and down to do it. I finally got boat straight enough to to pull back up on trailer. I went to set behind steering wheel and slipped down. My foot landed on hot foot depressing it to floor. Boat jumped over trailer and went through window of van destroyed the left rear door. Scared my dad to death. Embarrassed me to no end. I’ve never let anybody unstrap my boat since and double check my self multiple times at ramp.

Yeah. I have mis-steped and went into the drink. Thank goodness as was cold. Also hooked my PB and slipped off the rocks and into the water on a night that was cold enough to ice up my guides. That one scared me

Many years ago my dad and I were fishing in the winter and I got my lure hung in a tree. Didn’t seem that far up so told dad to hold the chair and I’d step up quickly and get the lure. Well the seat rotates and dumps me out into the lake. Dad was just a laughing as I come up. He helps me into the boat and we head home. I can’t remember if I got the lure back or not. Man that’s a good memory. I miss my dad and fishing with him.

Boat drifted into a piling at O'dark:30 when snook fishing near inlet. Spilled me in, thankfully, my route overboard pulled wires from battery. Come up spluttering and put rod in boat, then climbed back in. Wear my life jacket at night fishing solo these days.
Rolled canoe with cousin fishing ice-out for yellow perch. We both made it to shore but won't how it felt to go in. flash of white as the cold hit, everything was numb in about 3 seconds, couldn't get boots off, hung on to throw cushion and willed myself to kick every kick the 50-75 yards or so to shore. Cousin had taken off immediately for shore and threw him the other throw cushion.
The 2 times I came close to drowning...

Had one friend I took bass fishing. Late windy cool front, but got to go when you can sometimes. Fishing was awful. He thought he had a bite on a texas rig worm and walked right off the back deck concentrating on the bite. Yes I laughed hard. Went back to the landing and got a heavy coverall that he brought. He did not want to quit. I did tell him we were leaving if he fell in again.

not me that I remember , but have seen a spill or 2 ....
the most memorable was a BIG hybrid jerking my bud off his pedestal seat on the front deck right into the lake ....
that for sure was the best spill I ever seen , that fish jerked him off the deck so fast it ketched me totally off guard :Rofl
he came up with his rod in one hand and grabbed the bow with the other and .......said this ....
I still have the fish , GET THE NET ! :Rofl:Rofl

I was bass fishing with a buddy in a little 10’ duracraft aluminium boat one summer night on lake Cumberland back in the early 80s when I had a unbelievably hard bite. Naturally I set the hook hard & when I did I flipped backwards with the seat right out of the boat into the water., :Rofl Now I did catch the fish however since there was no way I was letting go of my first ever Diawa magforce bait caster & I swear it was a smallmouth every bit of 8” long. :Rofl

Yeah, been dunked a couple times. Both times were in a small flat bottomed jonboat where I got off center and leaned out over the gunnels too much. Lost my glasses both times.
