11/10/20 Harris night stalk
We moved my wife's 85 yr old mom in with us nearly a year ago. She suffers from dementia and Alzheimer's and takes a lot of our time. Since moving her in with us, and with covid 19 hanging over us, I've had to pass on fishing for the most part. Until a couple of weeks ago, my last trip had been in October of 2019. My freezer was getting pretty bare. I can't easily go during the day, so I told my wife I was going to try some night fishing to restock our freezer. Her mom is asleep then so it seemed like a good plan.
My brother and I went last Saturday and did ok, but the bite wasn't great. I had some minnows left from that trip so we decided to try to beat the coming rain and go again Tuesday night. The bite was better last night. We fished about 4 hours. Caught enough to restock my freezer and have his family over for a fish fry this week. I doubt I'll get to go anymore this year, but I'm happy to have had a few decent trips to get the freezer restocked. Had a few 9 1/2" (for mother-in-law), one 14" and the rest between 10 and 13" We were fishing in 16 ft catching them with floats about 3 ft down and tightlines near the bottom.
