Default Has anyone used knitting yarn on jigs?

Looking through Michaels and Hobby Lobby the other day I was wondering if anyone uses regular yarn for jigs?

    Thanks

Yes I have. You can use a dog brush or something similar and brush it and it turns into like a hair material. Actually my PB was caught on a jig tied with yarn.

I found some old pics when I was learning to tie and using yarn. Not the best but help give you an idea.

When brushed out it is very similar to craft fur

I like to call it troll fur. I had my girls help me make a bunch of troll fur when I started....lol. They had fun.

Keep your jigs separated or they will get matted together. Cheap stuff but you will probably be better off buying suitable materials in the end. I have a box of yarn somewhere in the shed from my attempt.
Maybe they will bite this one……

I have used yarn and pipe cleaners. They catch fish but do not expect for them to be used for more than one trip.
