A alcohol burner is what I use as well. Have tried many other types of heat but the burner is what works best for me. Have heated many many many jigs using one.

I tried the alcohol lamp. Didn’t like it one bit.

I also use a heat gun.

Alcohol burner works fine, just slow and once the wick gets used up,,,good luck finding new wicks because sizing it’s a pain,,,,cooking starter torch works good too,,, refills are butane gas

I started with an alcohol burner and still have original wick. I’ve had no problems finding wicks on amazon they all appear same for my burner. I mainly went that route because of noise and it being quiet. Now my girls are a little older I’m using a heat gun. It’s pretty easy to use and does a good job.

I used one several years ago with Denatured Alcohol. It worked just fine, only mine would let the alcohol evaporate out between uses. Now I use a propane torch mainly, sometimes the alcohol lamp.
