    Default Thanks!

I’ve been interested in pouring and painting my own jigs now for awhile. When my grandfather was alive he used to make his own. I’ve been reading all the post on pouring and painting on this forum and it gave me some inspiration. My uncle gave me my grandfather’s old mold and melting pot. I made my own fluid beds from PVC. I’ve been at it for about six months now and have finally got a process down for making my own. Just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration! Nothing feels better than catching crappie on your home made jig!

Wish I had a space dedicated to just pouring and paining. Mine is sored in closet till needed and my tying table is cleared...Great looking area, and I'm sure your grandpa would be proud you took up his hobby. Welcome to a life time of enjoyment.

I really appreciate that! I’ve experimented with a couple different brands of paint but my go to is the Pro-Tec disco colors. They seem to take to the jig better and don’t drip when cooking them. No I don’t reload, I have a friend that does and he had gave me those.

Nice looking work. Have you checked out Columbia Coatings. com in Columbia Tn.. They have a selection of paint that will blow your mind. I've used several colors and have had no trouble with any of them. They sell small batches( 2 oz.), in most of their colors. It's a fun hobby and nice to catch fish on your own creation.
