Cool! I gave up on mine or at least for now. Doing it no different than you except using heat gun. My heads look same as yours before I bake. I’ve tried all types of colors from white to orange to green chartreuse and more with same results every time. I’ve even heated at over 400 degrees. Minimal separation of crinkle. Mine had never dripped or started to drip even over 400 degrees. Can’t call it. Maybe try a different crinkle color than silver. Maybe mine is bad batch.

I bake mine between 300-350 degrees for 10-15 minutes. This is based on the digital display on my oven so temps could actually be higher. I start with a white base on most colors except when I'm using chartreuse. I actually over baked the heads in the video by a couple minutes and they developed a small cone head. Some color combinations do separate and run better than others and candy orange over white, chartreuse or transparent yellow is one that works really nice. It could be a bad batch of silver that didn't get mixed good enough. Gold is my #2 color, maybe try and see if the other colors work. I only heat my head one time before I start dipping through the colors.Name: IMG_1872.JPG

Thanks for times. Those look pretty cool. I have an oven thermometer coming and when I get it I plan on trying some of this again. I'm wondering if my oven is accurate. Also, which you might know this if you use a jig clamp it would let the excess run down the shaft instead of forming cone heads if it bothers you any. I had that problem pretty bad when I started. Actually it left drips all the way to the bottom of the oven...lol.

I've been using a card board box to hang my jigs with heads pointed down with a metal tray underneath in case of drips. I made a video this morning about how I tie my float n fly jigs with duck feathers but can't get it to download from my phone to the computer. Think I may start using my camera instead of my phone. No problems with camera, pic of the two jigs tied in video.Name: IMG_1874.JPG
