I have tried this. The problem I found was there are so many coatings out there to use that its very difficult to get a good overcoat. For instance I have used automotive powder paint on jigs. Repainting did not work with jig paints. And oil base wrinkles like an old orange when heated for powder coat and this has happened with ProTec over ProTec.. It works some times but for me if I have jigs I just don't want to use, they go in a coffee can til I have a bunch the I remelt in the driveway in a cast pot and start over. Or I let the lil woman put the in her next yard sale. Just my 2 cents.
