    Default Nail Polish Question

Getting ready to paint some jigs with nail polish this weekend.

Do you guys prep the lead before painting or just start slathering on the polish?

Will brushstrokes even out on their own or do you have to smooth out the polish yourself?

Searched but didn't see this info.

    Thanks

I wipe mine with acetone, and paint, if they need it, I will add a second coat, then seal with Sally Hansen - Hard as nails clear. Just as good as powder paint or better!!

To get a good even cover make sure your jig is smooth and clean. I use a fine file or an emery board. Fp will level it's self. Sally Hansen top coats does not mix with some enamel fp. Minimum 2 coats. Will use up to 4 coats, of clear, to keep 3D eyes on.

Some colors especially fluorescent I use a white base coat then the color. Sometimes a couple coats and then top coat with sally Hansen. Not all of that is needed but the more you do the prettier. Fish aren’t as concerned about looks as we are...lol.

The biggest problem I,m having is finding a color that looks like chartreuse. Any ideas.

Did a quick search online and if you can't find something at a local walmart, sallys, or nail salon then order online. Found Orly and Grace-ful that look good to me.

SuperDave, aren't you just a little embarrassed to go fishing with those nails? ;-)
