    Default Vinyl Vs. Powder paint

Wondering what your Opinions are on Vinyl and powdered paints
I'm not doing a Boatload of jig heads and not wanting to do a bunch of colors...Prolly 4 - 5 colors
I do have a toaster oven for curing, But with the severe Arthritis in my hands handling the small stuff Is not only painful, but it gets messy
That's why I was kinda thinking about Vinyl With a dip and done attitude
These heads are for my soft plastics...That are either "Wide Gap or 4/0 to 6/0 O'Shaunacies"
My local sportshop wants $.25 per head to PP 1 color each head... I'm looking to send 50 or so Big Icky Spiders to the Vets fishing program So That's just too much for me to spend

Seems you have a lot going on, and now with the jig heads.

like any Hobby, depends on Time, Cost, Involvement.
But with the severe Arthritis in your hands, Vinyl With a dip and done would be my choice,
(as my hands and fingers have a touch of the same )

I use both paints; and have found powdered paint seems to be harder than vinyl. I coat both paints with CS clear coat.
I have also used acrylic paint, which can the found at Walmart, it is a lot cheaper than the other paints but not as durable.

Just use the vinyl, be a lot easier for the amount your wanting to do. You can clean the eye then put them in the oven at a real low temp for about 15 minutes and set the paint to make them a little harder if you want.

    Thanks Billy!
I did some Crappie cranks too.....EXCEPT THE BELT SANDER ATE 4 OF THEM!!!!!
Dipped a couple of heads in a gallon of Rustoleum and then into the clear for cranks and can bang the head on the vice with no chipping!!!
Here's some more of the new cranks including the 2 surviving Crappie babies
Just need some open water to test them!

I personally prefer powder coat paint. I have tried both methods and have had more luck using powder coat paint and it takes half of the time to powder coat than to paint...especially if you use a white primer coat when painting! Just my opinion!

Thanks for all the input guys!
Over the last couple of months ...I inherited some Pro Tec powders, and some vinyl paints...
It's a mess, and My heads look like a Kindergarter on acid dipped them, but I'm really liking what I'm seeing
    Couple questions...
    1) What do you guys use to hold the hook while heating... I've tried pliers, needle nose vice grips, Needle nose pliers, Those forecepts things....
None of them are working too great for me
I do OK for 5 minutes or so then have to stop...
#2) Most of my heads are Large...Like 1/8 to 5/8 up to3/4 oz. for river fishing and on these shallower lakes around here they are just way to heavy
So I was going to shoot some with hard Plastisol... But don't think they will be very durable...Any thoughts

I don't know it they will be durable enough to bother putting eyes on and clear dipping them or not
They do have salt added to them to give them some sink weight
