    HOODLEM

There's always a learning process in creating a better mouse trap

for you could always add color on your next plastic pour
plus there are sinking additives available
as far as sealing, I would leave it, maybe add some scent and plastic bag it
the eyes might need a sealant to stay attached

For lead pour jig holding I use Hemostats over the eye, this way no cleaning for the opening is necessary

    billygee

I don't know it they will be durable enough to bother putting eyes on and clear dipping them or not
They do have salt added to them to give them some sink weight

    Thanks Billy!
    HEMOSTATS that the Foresepts thingy!!
They give me the most trouble getting them open without banging the head into the rack
Thinkin' Bout putting some eyes on the plastic ones and dipping them in a salt water sample of plastic I have... Just to TORTURE TEST them
We are really stuggling to re-gear from St. Croix river fishing to the local lakes
    Going from 6-8mph. current@ 17-23ft. water to weeds @ 3-4' water with a max depth of 13-16'
Post up pix when I get them done

Here is how I do it. Old coffe cup full of water. Setting next to paint station. I use a set of curved tip forceps over hook eye. Heat, dip in paint, count to about 10 after pulling from paint to let it smooth out then dip in water to cool. Won't hurt a thing and then you can take it in your fingers and release. Hang on rack.

And an Update on the soft Plastic … I love them! They keep the bait neutral in the water so it stays where you let it
    sink to at 1.4mph trolling!
Plus they are WAY more Durable than I thought they'd be Over 23 toothy fish in the boat and the head was still intact
    Bait not so much
Pulled this guy out of less than 4' of water

Years ago there was a company but I can not remember the name that made a line of bass jigs with hard plastisol heads. They were even weedless and fell like a snail..funny how things come full circle....lol...

I did some Crappie cranks too.....EXCEPT THE BELT SANDER ATE 4 OF THEM!!!!!
Dipped a couple of heads in a gallon of Rustoleum and then into the clear for cranks and can bang the head on the vice with no chipping!!!
Here's some more of the new cranks including the 2 surviving Crappie babies
Just need some open water to test them!
