Keeping powder paint off bladed jig heads
I purchased a bladed jig head mold from Jacob's. How is everyone keeping the powder paint off of the barrel swivels? I tried aluminum foil but it doesn't work that great. Thanks.

I go to a local electronics shop and buy 4 ft lengths of heat shrink just big enough to slip over swivel. Cut about 1/4 in length to just cover swivel. Put it close to heat source until it starts to shrink then heat head and paint. Peel off with pocket knife. Get about 100 pieces out of a stick. For a dollar. Much easier than any other method I tried.

I make my own version of the heat shrink. I take about an inch + or - of paracord and pull the inside threads out then shrink it a little. Then put it over the swivel and shrink to fit. It took some experimenting, but after you get it fitted you can use it repeatedly.

I'm a tin foil guy, but that heat shrink tube sounds like something I will try soon.

Hmmm, anybody coating them with Vaseline so the paint does not stick. Just a thought. Heat probably would make a mess of things.
