Default Stick on eye guide for jigs

    06May2016 @10:10
OK guys and gals, my question is does anyone know of a
guide to use when choosing stick on eyes for jigs.
    e.g.: 3mm for 1/16 and 1/32 oz jigs
    4mm for 1/8oz jigs
And so forth from 1/64 thru 1/4oz.
    Appreciate you guys helping out!
    Dave

In the jig size range you reference you'll be better off painting the eyes unless the heads have "flats" for the eyes so the edges of the stick-ons don't stick up off the round of the head. How are you sealing these?

    Thanx for replying so quickly!
I will either use Testors Clear Lacquer or Skip's recommendation
of CSI's vinyl clear coat. If you have a suggestion, let's hear it,
because I am definitely open to the great help the members of
this forum give so freely. Thanx again, Dave

I use mostly 3mm - I use DUCO cement put the eye on all of one side let dry for a few minutes flip over and do all the other sides. I don't seal the head putting eyes on just what it takes to put them on and haven't lost one yet.

I don't have an aspirin head mold so I just flatten the sides on round heads. I also use domed doll eyes to put on my jigs and haven't lost any of those yet either.

Fatman - Thanx for the suggestions. I like the idea of flattening the side of a round head!
Do you use a punch to flatten or ??

What's Duco?? Been planning on making a jig to put in my vice to flatten the heads slightly!
So the right size is 3mm for 1/16 oz heads?

Superglue gel quick set here. The tiniest drop is all that is needed. I don't seal the eyes. No problem eyes coming off.

Flat nosed pliers you don't need a lot of pressure to flatten them - go to far and you can crack the lead around the eyelet

Duco Cement for glueing them on
