Default Welcome to the Pouring and Painting Jigheads forum

This will be the place to learn about pouring and painting your jigheads. There are a lot of us pouring our jigs now and using powder paint. I am learning as many of you are and this will be a place that we can share our knowledge about using powder paints, vinyl, airbrush, nail polish or any kind of painting on jigs and spoons. I will start a sticky thread for us to place our recipes for custom colors that you want to share with others. Also be sure to post your pictures of the jigs that you custom paint with two or more colors for others to learn from.

I look forward to sharing this forum with all of you and hope that we can learn together about Pouring and Painting Jigheads.

    Thanks,
    STUMP HUNTER

Good idea Stumphunter. This would also be a nice venue for those who are using solder to make teardrop jigs and then powder painting them. What do you think? should I place that information here for them? Shoot me a pm and let me know,

Ship it would be good to show how you painted the spoons and tell how long you heated them before dipping them. You also have some that have two colors, tell how you added the second color to them. We will leave making them on the Jig tying/Lure Making forum.

I know some will want to post some of the blades that they have painted also.

Stump - Thanks for the sub-forum!!!!!!!!! I'll repost the mix I put on the other board for turquoise. There's alot of talanted powder painters on this board and it can only help folks who want to make some wild paint jobs!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks again - Fatman

I just invested in my first batch of powder paint to start painting my own jigs. Got about a half dozen different colors of Pro-Tec to start with. I would like to ask some of you guys who have been doing this for quite awhile what basics I need to get started doing this, besides the paint (fluid bed, heat gun, etc.) I'm not interested in going commercial, just painting my own jigs for personal use. Thanks.
My wife keeps saying I never listen to her....... or something like that!

A toaster oven to cure the heads. The heating times will be on the Pro-tec bottles. Look around at yard sales or Goodwill stores and you can find used ovens for a few dollars.
Welcome to the painting side of jigs.
