Question Looking for hydraulic steering kit, 150 Mercury xr6

Looking for hydraulic steering for a 2005 nx882 Nitro, with 150hp mercury xr6 motor. I have a dual cable rack and pinion steering that is really tight and hard to turn.
    Thx Dave

I have a Baystar kit on my Kenner with a 135 and LOVE IT! I got mine off the internet and installed it myself. Do a google search and price shop to see if there's a deal out there. One of our Member Sponsors may make you a deal too. Maybe reach out to Russell Marine?
Once you get the kit, look at a few you tube videos of the installation and you'll see it's fairly easy.

This should give you the info you need to choose the right system for your boat.

I know they rate the baystar unit to 150HP but if your going to do it go ahead and get the seastar unit.I put the the baystar on my 150 and couldn’t tell a whole lot of difference between it and my cable steer when the boat was on plane so I ended up selling the baystar and put the seastar on.When I ordered a new boat in 2015 with a 150 on it my only option was the seastar unit.

The steering on my 150 Mariner got stiff and hard to turn. I took the cables loose at the motor and unscrewed the caps on the cables. A little white lithium grease and a good cleaning made a big difference. Might be worth a shot.
