WTB Piece of Marine plywood
I Bought a project boat and hoping to find someone close by with some left Marine plywood over from their project. I realize this is a long shot and would be a pickup only.

I would call around to any lumber dealers in the area. By that i mean the old type lumber yards and not the box stores that put most of them out of business. If they dont stock it they will probably get it for you.
I paid $85 for one 4x8 sheet of 1/2” marine grade last year for a deck in my boat.

Most of the box stores don't sell true marine grade plywood but sell treated but not the same as marine grade.

You don't need marine plywood. The ONLY difference between marine plywood and normal exterior plywood is that the marine version has no voids. That is important for building the exterior hulls of plywood boats but not for reinforcing glass or aluminum boats. One more thing - don't use pressure treated wood with aluminum. The copper in the treated wood will eat through the alumimum.

Use a good grade of plywood and coat it with epoxy like you would use on fiberglass

I don't know how far in Alabama you live but if it's not to far from Quitman mississippi our quitman building and supply has 4'X 8' X 3/4" marine plywood for $99.00 a sheet last I looked they had a good size stack but I would call them on the phone before I made a very long trip.

Marine has no voids and exterior glue. For $35 or so you can go to Lowe’s and get BC exterior ply that has no voids also, at least mine didn’t, and will do the same job as the marine. If it’s going to be wet, treat it with polyester resin thinned 50/50 with acetone and mixed to set up very slow. This lets the resin soak in deep before hardening and will make it last better. Pressure treated wood has no place in a boat IMHO.
