Might be just as well to get it rebuilt, at least you'll know the condition of it. Getting a used one might be just as expensive as rebuilding and you'll never be sure of what you're getting. JMO

They are not too difficult to rebuild if your friend has moderate mechanical skills. May take a couple specialty tools but I’m sure he can do it.
