Charlie .... you might be able to print one out, yourself, if you have a Library close.
I purchased a used HDS 8, Gen1 unit that did not come with a user manual. I downloaded the electronic version on my computer, but want a printed copy to put in the boat to help me when my CRS kicks in.
Please let me know if you have one you are willing to part with.
I am at zip 30233 and can pay you through PayPal.
Thanks, Charlie

If you download the manual as pdf, your HDS unit can read a pdf file from a SD card. Not as handy as a manual, but will work in a pinch. from menu:
Select FILES
Select SD card to view pdf
( keep a pencil handy if you have crs episodes)

copy it to a sd card or cd and take it to office depot or someplace like that and have them print it out. They can even put it in a book with spiral binding for you.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did print out a copy, but it is bulky and the screen captures print very fuzzy. I will try the SD card and see if I can make that work. But, if someone has an original printed copy, that is my preference.
I did a print out of my Elite 5DSI user manual (at work in 2012) and ended up with 41pgs. Then I read thru it and highlighted the parts that I was interested in (like taking screenshots) and just used it to refresh my memory now & again. I just pulled up the pdf and printed it out ... which is why I suggested using the facilities at the library (if they have computers/printers available). I think most Library's charge around 10 cents a page (b/w print) ... so compare that to what other sources would charge.
He could also consider writing down those "major" factors on a index card & then have it laminated. Put it in the boat or a tacklebox that would always go with him, and have it easily accessible when the "CRS" kicks in.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have a very nice printer and did print out a two sided copy so it is "only" 67 pages. But it is still very bulky and the images are very fuzzy which is hard on an old man's eyes.
I did find a copy of the original printed version and hopefully will get it soon. I have owned an HDS 7 since 2012 so the learning curve is not as steep as a beginner. But after reading and watching videos, I realized how much I still need to learn. Having the manual on the boat will really help me.
Thanks again for the help.
