    Default Anyone Fishing?

Anyone been out for crappie recently? If so, are they biting? Last time I was out the water temp was getting pretty warm.

I got 18 keeper crappies last Friday at Shenango lake. Water was a little high but not bad. Wind kept me off a few good spots.

Correction. That was June 3. I fished mosquito lake last Friday and got my 30 crappies and 15 gills. Took me 2 hours cleaning fish.

Sounds like you're doing pretty good Smitty. Are the crappie back deep now? Last time I fished (about 10 days ago) most of the ones I found were in 13-19 ft. On another note, do you think anyone would be interested in trying to have a fish together outing? If you don't think the weather is getting too warm I wouldn't mind setting something up. Maybe I could start a post and just see if there is enough interest?

I’m catching them in less than 12 ft. I’ll see if they’re still there after this heat wave passes. A fish together would be cool if there’s a good turnout. Go for it.

Zimmy, Looks like it's time for a fish fry. Those were some nice ones.

I've been out on local reservoir 3 times in the last week. 9 inch size limit, haven't caught many keepers, the ones I did catch were in deeper water. The shallow end of the lake has a ton of 6 to 8 inch fish but the bigger ones I've caught have been spread out in 20 to 30 FOW located anywhere from 6 to 12 ft deep. Most have been skinny white crappie, only caught a couple of blacks.
