Default Nice striper at Shenango lake

Got out last Wednesday morning and got some nice crappies, a smallie, and a 21” striper. Got the crappies and bass on baby Shad’s in 17ft. Got the striper using two pound test gamma line using a small spoon. Hope to get out a couple days this week before I put the boat away.

Sounds like a good day, and some nice catches. That's a dandy striper.

It was. I hit spotlock and loosened my drag. It ran me around the whole boat. I was determined not to lose this one. I had one beat me up a few weeks ago. Not this time. That treble hook was buried in his jaw this time. I tired it out and put it in the box. I got every bit of the red meat off of it. Chunked that white meat into nuggets and got forty pieces. Breaded, deep fried and fed some friends on the bus we took to our high school football game. They loved it. We won the game too. Maybe I’ll fry some crappies for this weeks game.
