He still a young fella. He can handle the cold better than us old folks. It was 43* that day. I’d have been out but I put my boat away the weekend before.

What you think Chaunc, that maybe Slab needs to come to Pa, and you take him to school. Never too old to learn something new. I think being there in person, instead of a video, would make more sense.

Well if I get down to Florida next spring visiting my older brother, I’ll look him up to save him a long trip north. But I won’t go if we still have this virus problem.

I just wanted to thank you for this PA forum. Chaunc has been generous with information I was looking for. I have never fished shanango lake but will next year. I live on mosquito lake (2 minutes from my house) and have been looking at the great crappie pics from this falls catch. Our crappie stayed deep after the turnover and I get bored staying on the roadbed.

Pymy is my first love because I don't need a out of state license to fish it from my boat...lol
But shanango is only 28 minutes away and I would like to try it next fall.
I am a cork and cast kind of guy do lay downs sound great there.

    Thanks again.

Yes they do. Most newcomers here start with blow downs and eventually work their way out to deeper brush. This season, I finished out my year on a blowdown fishing 3feet deep. Found a school of 12”ers there. Hope you enjoy yourself there. I’ll be on mosquito in the spring as I’ve been doing for close to fifty years.

I will be seeing you there Chaunc! I met you 11 years ago by the bait store launch. We both had a cooler full of giant crappie (many close to 16) and were heading in by 10.30 am. That's when the other fisherman were heading out...lol
I am now mostly a night fisherman because I work all day now...... so that has changed my crappie fishing tactics greatly. I wish they hit our jigs as good at night as they do during the day, but unfortunately they prefer the minners in this new gin clear water we have been experiencing on mosquito lake.

Man do I miss the slightly stained water of the past. Before the crazy weeds and Lilly's. Our northern honey holes are being invaded...Hahaha!

I love spot locking and casting to brush piles at night right after I Glide over them. Nice video with Russ by the way!

    Thanks again for the info.
