Default Boy I wish it would rain

IN the last few weeks many areas of Pa had some storms that produced heavy rain storms. Unfortunately in Boilingsprings Pa. we did not see any of this rain. The small brook trout stream on my property is dry except for some water in a few holes. This is very devastating for the aquatic life and even effect other critters that depend on the water. They are calling for rain this evening and tomorrow. They have predicted it 4 or 5 times in the past few weeks but it seems like these rain storms either fizzle out a few miles from us or just magically separate and go around us. I hope others are not having these problems. With close to record breaking heat this makes evaporation even worse. I really hope we get some rain.

It started raining here yesterday evening, and rained pretty much until just now. Can you say Monsoon? We had got some other rain, but never enough to water our garden, so had to water it, even though it rained. Hopefully for a few days, we won't have to. And we're supposed to get more, in the next few days.

We did get some rain yesterday evening. Fairly hard rain for about 20 minutes then a little more. The creek is flowing again and it was enough for the garden for a few days. It is very disheartening when when a stream goes dry.
A friends who lives near Morehead City NC. said he could not cut his grass for over a month do to having so much rain. They are 6 feet above sea level and basically the area is all sand. I remember being there a few years ago after a rain and I had to wear boots as you would sink down a few inches into the wet lawn. If felt strange like walking on a large wet sponge.

Yes our grass was crunching, when walking on it, and haven't mowed for 2 weeks now. Will have to this next week at some point. All the rain we got yesterday, was 3 inches. My water barrel for the garden is full to the rim again.

Here in Lexington SC I think we had our wettest summer in memory. I keep expecting a draught but so far it's rained every few days.

I am happy to announce we have had some rain the last 4 or 5 days. The small brook trout stream is flowing and it appears that the weather pattern has made some changes. Watching any gift from our creator vanish is very hard on my heart. Some one said they did a rain dance. I guess that did it.

Yes, we got some rain too. Us and a neighbor planted some late sweet corn, between our two yards. And the rain sure helps it grow

It appears that the weather pattern has changed in the north east and we are seeing some rain and more normal temperatures. I hope that sweet corn comes in as we have been enjoying our share of it. We had BLTs and corn last week. A real summer treat!

Spoke too soon. Hot as blazes and no rain in over a week, maybe 2.
