Is your boat out of gas? Having mechanical problems? Call the Northstar Marina Rescue Tow Service at 724-383-1194. They will tow you to the landing where your trailer or dock is located, and if you are out of gas they will tow you to the marina where you can buy gas. This is a fee service. For medical, fire or police emergencies call 911.

As much as I fished Lake Erie I never had a problem (knocking hard on an oak desk top). On the other had I came close to sinking on Pymatuning due to a frozen and busted drain valve on my front livewell. It was the first fishing trip of the year. Wife was landing a pretty nice walleye for herself while I was running the boat with my nose in the Hummingbird. She said it's a keeper but my feet are getting wet. I turned to see her standing ankle deep in water that had already filled the bottom of the boat and was now on the deck. I told her to throw it back.....she laughed and said .....WHY?...... I hollered..... BECAUSE I DON"T WANT TO BE ON THE F&*^$G Erie news. WE ARE SINKING FAST!!!......I hit the full throttle on my 20 hp. while we still rods out. Got the boat up to 3.5 mph with all that water weight under the deck before I hit the bilge pump. Best thing I saw was that water squirting full stream out the side of the hull. Pump ran the entire way 3 miles back to the launch. Took a bit of work but I eliminated that front livewell and converted the rear bait well into a holding area.......I'm with chaunc on this one....If I see anyone waving for help I'm coming to you, as fast as my too big a boat for the motor will go. I hope everyone feels the same.................. Be safe, have fun and I hope it doesn't happen but be someones hero if they need help!

Mchech that would be scary as heck!! The first year I got my little Jon boat a buddy and I were at pymatuning and just after launching I looked down and my feet were under water..lol.. forgot to put the plug in, because it is only a 14’ I had to floor it as well put the plug in and scoop the water out.. my fancy boat doesn’t have a pump, just me!
