Thanks mcheck, for posting the link.

Patrapper, no matter what, you can never please everybody. There are those who, no matter what is said or done, they will never be satisfied. They always seem to have a negative attitude. Like in another post, I made about those unsatisfied, how the corp is handling things at Shenango.

I'd be willing to bet this was scheduled long ago when they decided they needed no help dumping fish. It will scatter the crowd and make many angry.

I'm not going trout fishing this year. Going to wait till things settle before I go fishing at all. Last thing I need is the Plague. To a lot of people that do support the PFC and the trout program this is like telling a 3 year old there is no Santa Clause. Many that buy the stamp only fish on the first day & the in-season stockings. To me that was just a day to ride around and study.

Here I am with a nice limit I got on the first day several years ago. Not shown is a quart of homemade soup. We supported the local fire department when scouting and studying the crowds.

Wow, didn't see that one coming. Lucky for me, it isn't that big a deal and I'll take a pass this year. Thanks for the update.

Mmmmmmmmmm hoagies! I could go for a hoagie sale right now. I have to give props to the PFC for opening trout season today. Opening day crowds and spacing would have been a big mess this year. And the beer battered filets were quite good for dinner.

yesterday was the BEST OPENING DAY of trout season I can remember it was great , no crowds , very peaceful, no idiots stepping in 20 ft away casting over your line, and the 3 or 4 other guys in I could see spread out along the creek seemed to be throwing the fish back, like I said great day , hope they pick a mystery day every year !

The interesting thing, with the covid-19, is that in one of the posts, they don't want out of state people to come in and fish this year. They are banned from coming. That is some of the big money they get, to do the program, plus using part of our regular fishing licenses.

I think this was the best the commission could do. If they did not allow people to fish the open water until things were safe then poaching and more problems would take place. Also there funds continue to dry up do to poor license sales. I assumed they would do exactly what happened.
In my area Boiling Springs Pa. most used common sense. However we drove by the lake and the children area was elbow to elbow for hundreds of yards. I did not see anyone with a mask on . IMO some parents are not responsible.
Today was a beautiful day. I did some aquatic seining on on the Breeches and Mountain Creek ( cumberland co.) Both have excellent life in them. I seined decent to large quantities of Mayflys. Caddis larvae and on Mt creek some large stone flys. This is a great sigh for a good year of natural reproduction and hold over fish for future outings. There were a few Grannom Caddis and some Hendricksons coming off as I was doing my sampling. The water was slightly up with a hint of color. It seem to be very good conditions for both fly and bait anglers.
