Default Finally Found Neshaminy Creek Dark Hollow Park

Hi all. This initial report is kind of Crappy, so don’t kill the messenger! LOL I finally found the best kept secret county park in Bucks County, and the possibilities for fishing look good when things warm up. At this time of year pretty shallow and very wadeable. Plenty of bank fishing possible as well. I happened to run into a ranger and he did confirm trout stocking and also that it is a dump in point for kayaks and canoes. It looks like the park is bracketed by two old and closed bridges.
The history is that the county bought 770 acres along the creek for an impoundment that never happened, and the area has NO improvements or signs pointing the way other than two dirt parking areas near each bridge. Bring your own toilet tissue! This one should be a good one to explore.
More info to come as I get it.

    Default So Where Is It?

Well, I guess I did leave out a bit of crucial info. The short answer is "you cant't get there from here!" Actually, there aren't a lot of ways to get to the park. It is off of Route 263, which is a North South road thru Bucks county. Heading North from Jamison, Pa (towards Centre Bridge, Pa) just before the highway goes over the Neshaminy you will see on your right a turn off to get off of 263. The landmark to look for on your right is a Big Brothers/Sisters house. The turn off to best I saw has no name. You drive down an old road towards the closed bridge and on your left will be a small unpaved parking lot. That's it. One garbage can to welcome you. If anyone has interest to get to the other closed bridge here are the GPS coordinates: 40 degrees, 16 ft, 8.82 in and -75 degrees, 4 ft, 30.5 in. The turnoff for that is just above the one I described above off of 263.
Dark Hollow Park does have a website with a few photos of the bridges. Right now the creek looks pretty dreary, but in the warmer months looks "fishy".
