Yea it is kind of cold here too. But by Friday, thru part of next week, our highs will be in the 40's.

Couple of places here in central PA are at higher elevations and typically ice up faster and hold their ice for a longer time...and both hold decent crappie populations in addition to other panfish.

    Black Moshannon- Centre County
    Hills Creek- Tioga County

Looks promising for Saturday in the northcentral mountains. Just read that Ricketts Glen (in the Endless Mountains region) has 5" of ice as of today, 12/19/2019. I'm getting the gear ready for a Saturday morning outing.

Is that the name of the lake? I want to Mapquest it to see how far away it is from me in Sharon.

Lake Jean is the actual name of the lake. It's a LONG way from Sharon...Sullivan County, PA. Also, it's all catch-and-release until January 1 because it was drained two years ago for repairs to the dam, but the PFBC reported the fish populations as recovering faster than they expected.

It's looking like a couple of the lakes in Tioga County are going to be fishable tomorrow....Hills Creek and Beechwood. They're a lot closer to Sharon although still a trip for you. I'll post later this afternoon. If you want to come out, I'd be delighted to meet you.
