The lake level reached 10 1/2 ft, from the last rain we had last week, on Saturday. But with the few days of sun, on Sunday it was back to 9 1/2 ft. Their hope is to get it back down to normal by Wednesday of this week, but doubt it by then, maybe by the weekend. Will keep updating as I see their posts on FB.

I fished Shenango lake a couple times last week and did good. Size wise, nothing over 10 1/2”, but the black crappies are fat. Caught our two limits and fun fished for a couple more hours before calling it a day both days. Both, jig and bobber and casting jigs produced good results. Lots of baitfish in the areas we fished. Every color I used worked. Tied some jigs to try next trip out.

Jigs look nice, and know you will find some bigger crappie soon.

The jigs worked good tipped with nibbles at Shenango. Had my limit in an hour and a half. Fun fished until 11 when it started getting too hot. Caught at least 60 crappies with a hand full of bluegills in the mix. Most of my keepers were ten and better. Thick fat blacks.

Went back up Saturday morning for a while. We caught our two limits but the quality of the fish wasn’t as big as the last trip up. I’d say 80 % of the keepers were just at ten inches. Nothing bigger. Still they were all fat thick sided blacks. Nice fillets. Fished three spots. Two deep and one shallow. Did best deep in 16 ft. Jigs and nibbles took em all. We’ll see how the new limit helps the lake in the next couple seasons.

Had the pleasure to take my friend Shawn and his grandson out. It was Isaiah first time on a boat. He handled it well. Never got uncomfortable with wearing his PFD all day. We put a couple limits of eaters in the box.
