I just joined the site. Lake Arthur is my home lake. I'm usually with my three Boys (3-7-10) in my Pro Crappie. We want to focus on locating Crappie this year. We just started tying up some of our own jigs. I've searched around the 528 bridge last year with a bit of luck.

JDudal38, Welcome to the site, and the Pa board. Do you have a map of the lake? Wondering if you catch the rangers, if they have them to hand out. Personally, I use both a map for Shenango Lake, and fish finder, in deciding where to fish.

I just relocated to the Harrisburg PA area and plan to catch some crappie at Blue Marsh lake this spring. Some tips from someone who knows that lake would be much appreciated.

Pymatuning, Conneaut Lake, Wilhelm and the Bay in Erie. Unfortunately not much these past 3 years due to health issues. Been hanging around this sight for a few years learning. Reading up on things here and tying a few jigs has helped me maintain my sanity. Doing better now and figure on hitting it a lick this season.

I have been using the Navionics boating app to navigate Arthur. My sonar has been lacking and I plan to upgrade before spring. My old sonar can’t pick up brush piles and I’m thinking there has to be a ton of DIY brush piles in Arthur. I do pretty good around fallen trees but not consistently.

Living in Newville, I fish mostly York Co. lakes (Marburg, Red Man, Williams, Pinchot, Long Arm) due to them being semi nearby (within 1 hr). I would rather fish then drive. If you get to know the lakes, you'll find out where the nice ones hang out, no need to travel across the state. Bigger fish are in the lakes with shad populations.

Thanks for the tip on shad. Which of the five lakes you fish seem to have the most big Crappie?
