I call them "Brim Jigs" This is the new model .. the old one was Marine Epoxy Painted .. eyes painted on red on white,
Use it below a spin bubble or on ultra lite with out float. I have caught a lot of them with this (got to pour some other color tails but the red has been the best with a black head ... even have a 8# plus Bass on it).

#6 & #8 most of the time the #6 is the best.

Those work nicely in the 1/64 tipped with maggot or gulp waxie.

I still have a few of my own Foxees too. This was one of my favorites.

Here is a link where I last got mine. Blue Fox - Lures - Foxee Jig I think there are places where you can still get the Foxee bodies and just put them on your own minnow jig heads. Nowadays I just usually fish a dropper jig combo of Danger! Danger! with either a jig or hook below it.

beetle spins in black and yellow is the go to bait. last year i was playing with a micro crank bait that i got at WM. I am about color blind, but smitty said that it was green. I believe him. The red ears could not lay off that bait. They would hit , on top, dead stick or twiching, or cranking. I could not find a way not to fish it. I went back to WM and got some more. cant wait !

What's the name, FH? I know Strike King has one called the "Bitsy Pond Minnow". Then there are the Yo-Zuri Snap Beans and the Matzuo Nano. I haven't tried any of them, but I'd be willing to.

Is it hard unhooking a bream with the treble hooks?

I dont know about bluegill but that little snap bean will wear the trout out. DB4D I use the tiny rapalla crawdad in creeks for smallmouth and hook the occasional bluegill and the trebble hook is not to hard to get out, keep some small pliers handy though and pinch the barb on the hook down.

I picked up a couple of those recently. There's a stretch of the Chattahoochee River near me that has trout and shoal bass. I thought the crawfish might do well there. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet, though.
