I have 2 St. Croix Triumph rods, 1 6-6 and 1 7-0, both 1 piece ML rods... I use them for Crappie... their heavy enough to jig structure with and pull the fish out of cover but sensitive enough to feel the slightest bites jigging docks. I have both rigged with 6 pound P-Lins CXX Hi Viz line and usually fish 1/32- 1/24oz jigs on them. I've caught brim, crappie, catfish and LBM on them... best rods I ever bought.

for crappies it's the 8 1/2' micro-lite from bass pro. the old ones, and for bream it's gonna be a okuma celilo 6' I just bought for 22 bucks. big shellcrackers, I use 10 footers in open water, and 7 1/2' in coves, they require more backbone. 4 lb. test is my preference on crappie and bream, 6 lb. on shellcrackers, most of the time.

I got an ugly stick ultralite rod and put a phlugger micro underspin reel on it.I also have a Shakespear ultralite combo that I got at Big Lots!It reeled in a 7lb Channel cat last year(caught it while I was Crappie fishing).

I really love my 7ft Okuma Celilo light action spinning rods. I have four of them. They are all outfitted with Shimano 1000 series spinning reels(3 Sedonas/1 Syncopate). They are very sensitive and retail for around thirty bucks. I can cast a 1/16 oz. jig a long way. I have caught several nice cats while bream fishing this year and they have held up beautifully. You can buy them at FishUSA.com and on ebay.com.

I use both 5' and 6' St Croix Avid UL, both with 1000 Stradics spooled with 10 lbs 832 sufix braid. I use a 4 lbs. test Fluorocarbon Leader about 4' long, and I have a 5' BPS micro lite with a Saros 1000 and setup the same. The 5' rods get the most use but if I want distance or tight lining deep or vertical I use the 6' rod. The 10lbs test braid I use because it's 2 lbs diameter and any lighter it becomes a pain to control in wind, I like the braid because it last 3 or 4 years without deteriorating or adding, then I turn it around with a little more backing and good to go again for another 3 or 4 years. This is used for Yellow Perch, Gill's, Crappie, and the micro to catch creek chubs for the grankids to go catfishing. When I am Perching on Lake Erie I use a 6'6" MLF Legend Elite and a 6' LF G Loomis IMX both with 1000 Stradics 10 lbs 832 but go to 8 or 10 lbs. test leaders, on Erie you can count on being hit with Catfish, Smallmouth, White Bass, Sheaphead, and once in a while a Walleye so the slightly heavier rods are welcome for me.
