I use a 8 1/2 ft Temple fork 5wt flyrod and a Falcon 51/2ft UL with a Quantum kinetic reel. Use both for trout also.

I use a Wally Marshall 5'2" single piece from BPS. Rally inexpensive and it has a great action for bluegills. It is a lot of fun to hook into even a medium sized gill on this rig, plus, it was only $39, with the reel.

Disco, I didn't pay much more than that for my boat, and it came with a 90 HP motor on it!!!! Some people got more money than sense...

I cast that rod, and it IS very nice, but I won't be buying one! The fly fishing market is very small, so the top rods command premium prices. Good bamboo rods typically go for $1,000 - $2,000, and there's a waiting list to get one. Also, people who buy rods like that are generally not buying a big boat, motor and trailer. They choose to save money in other areas.

I use TFO fly rods. I have a 1-weight, 2-weight and 3-weight. That's all I use. I like the Finesse and Pro series of TFO.

    Steve,

What length Finesse rod do you have? On another board, someone said they liked the 7'9" version better. They thought the 8'9" model was a little soft.

    I have two Pro's, a 7wt and a 9wt -- like 'em a lot.
