    Default Morning gill trip

I've fished five of the last six days taking advantage of the cooler weather. Yesterday was a gill day fishing ultralight. First lake bite was slow catching five in a half hour, only one decent one. Moved to lake #2 and numbers and size improved. Caught my first redear in two years from this lake so there is a little hope. Hooked a gill and saw a huge wake on a collision course with my gill. Gill jumped twice as the bass tried to take it off the top and then the gill made a beeline for the bank with bass in pursuit and actually beached itself. Fish on high alert, couldn't get another bite so hit lake 3, hoping for a crappie but only caught one bass. Fun morning, finished with 14 gills, the ear and bass. Watched a couple fawns playing in a field, mom showed a little later.

That’s good times Jim. I’ve had two Mondays this week so I know your day was better than mine. Hope you get out again soon.
