Pretty catches and congrats on the good trip……to the tag office. Fishing trip sounds nice too…..lol
Don’t get out of work early very often and had a lot to get done. Scooped up my queen and off to the tag office we went. I had two cars, a boat and trailer to renew the tags and my license to renew. And I didn’t have an appointment so I had thoughts of having to spend the afternoon there waiting in line. Checked in and didn’t wait long and because I had both tags and license to do. Stepped up to the counter, everything went smooth and cheaper than I had expected and was out the door twenty minutes after we went in. Never happens like that for me. Ran around a little and had a bite and wound up back home at about 4:30. Plenty of time to fish so off I went. In just after 5 and out about 7:30. According to the solunar tables there was the peak of a minor feed when I got there. They didn’t lie. Second cast I connected with my first fish, a LMB that was about 12” that threw Victors jig back at me before I got to hold him. And I stayed busy for the next hour with good numbers of a mixed bag before I moved off of that bank and started through my other happy places. The gill in the first pic wrapped me around a branch and I found out just how tough my Varivas .175 line is. When I got him aboard I had one strand left and it didn’t give. All the others were piled up on either end of the rub. I was impressed. I didn’t load up on many bigger gills, I believe they’ve moved off of the bedding areas with the changing of the days and season. I got a few but nothing like a month ago. I lost a little while having to retie but not too bad. Finished up and was at the ramp, walking to get the truck and Nino called. He has a sixth sense for when I’m fishing and he isn’t. He’s dealing with Covid and not feeling like himself. He also can’t wait to get the boat wet again, it’s been a couple of weeks. Anyway, here’s todays stars and there was some I didnt get pics of, like the 4” LMB that thought he was big. This was a refreshing Tuesday that made me feel lucky that things went as smooth as they did. Hope y’all get out soon and please stay healthy. Protect yourself, we all need every one of you. Til next time….Skeet

Some beauties right there, skeet. I hear you about visits to the DMV. My wife and I wanted to get real ID licenses and I figured it would be a long morning, but we had all our paperwork and a miracle it was less than 30 minutes for the both of us. When we left the line was out the door. Not my usual luck.

Some days we are blessed with good luck, eh? Keep after them when you can.
skeetbum thanked you for this post
, 20 minutes must be some kinda record! Great post and pictures Tim! Congratulations and thanks for sharing.
By the way, that chartreuse jig is tied with nothing but a bunch of V’s on an #8 jig. Also notice that curl tail wadded up in the last pic, it’s done very well for me.
