Sounds like they may need to be thinned out some
Long time lurker and minimal poster BUT any suggestions on how to increase the size of my bream in my pond, loads and loads of little fish less than 3" occasionally catch a 5-7" fish but I'd like to increase the size on the majority of the fish instead of a gazillion little bait stealing thieves
Pond info, about 1/2 acre, mostly 4-6' with a deep end 12' and spring fed, also, it is an existing pond on property we bought (future homesite) a few years back, I have made a few improvements and I am trying to get it "cleaned" back up a little, weeds and algae included, so the grandkids will enjoy it more, thanks for any and all help
My thought is to use tiny jigs or a fly rod and don’t put the small ones back. Fun plus management. A few pound size bass would also help. Catch em there and bring em home.

A few big cats would make a dent in them also

I am no expert by any means but I have had the same type problem, I would put a few small bass in there, everything you catch I would keep(fry whole and crisp and eat like potato chips) LOL. Then catch edible size fish from somewhere else and throw in. Just my 2cents worth

NO bass , add 100 6 To 8 inch channel cats and 100 3 to 5 inch black crappie and use a number 10 hook on the bream and put a few hundred in the flower bed a month until the channel cat and black crappie get big enough to keep them in check , 2 years should fix or sooner ….
As soon as the bream numbers slow up and they get larger , quit loading the flower bed with them .bass are NOT the answer to the problem.
