Thanks for the comments. Neither my wife or I are carpenters. We will have it framed though. This was purchased to go on a prominent wall in our home. We knew going into an art gallery it would not be cheap…and it wasn’t….but in all likelihood the framing will cost as much if not more. But it is something I can look at forever. The guy had a replica bluegill mount but it was out of my price range….but it was beautiful.

    Regards

When it gets your attention it must be good. A friend once showed a buck bobwhite he’d carved and painted. Extremely good work and I wanted it a lot. Then he told the price and I had to decline but the guy next to me didn’t hesitate and it became his. I’ve often thought of that. And you’re right, good framing doesn’t come cheap. I’m a pretty good carpenter but some things are better done by pros.

Good advice on the framing, skeet. A good frame has an element of artistic touch in it to mate the frame style, wood, and finish to the subject. That takes time to learn. I have Randy posts a picture when it is done.
