    Default Weekly Meetup Fishing trip

We’ve changed our days to Wednesday unless an appointment comes up .
Thought was , hopefully less people to deal with at the lake .
The past five days we’ve had freezing temps at night and that worried me some and when I got to the lake today around noon , the water was a couple feet down from last week .
Not good . I figured it was going to be tough fishing.
When I arrived at the boat ramp we normally start , there was the guy who talked to us last week , who witnessed me catching several nice crappie , sitting in my spot .
I’d bet he’s probably fished that spot everyday since last Wednesday. LoL !
I texted my fishing buddy to meet me at a different ramp .
We fished two ramps today .
At the first one , I only caught a green sunfish , at the last spot , I caught a spotted bass , a small LM bass , a yellow perch , and the highlight of the day , a super nice Hybrid that took me twenty minutes to get in on my 6’3 Abu Garcia Mass Beat/Daiwa Fuego LT 1000 , and two pound test P-line fluorocarbon.
    What a battle !
A one time , I thought he’d come off , but it had made a run toward me . I was lucky the hook didn’t pull out .
All were caught on Trout Magnets , either bulldog , or my favorite , the Sowbug , on a 1/64 or a 1/32 TM jighead .
I only caught five fish , but all were different species.

Good variety and a couple of bruisers. You sure had a time with the hybrid. Glad you had a plan B when the poacher was milkin your spot.

Yep, I had a feeling last week he was scouting us out .
Too many boat ramps to get angry and stir up something.
The hybrid was like hooking a freight train. Run after run . I thought it was going to be a catfish or a carp .
    Definitely made the trip .

spots are fun fish , hybrids are just flat out mean and nasty bulldogs though ....
reel screamers are pretty cool fish though , seen a many beat up some anglers along the way
one big 10 lb hybrid literally jerked my buddy off his pedestal seat right into the lake when we used to target them
love to see other folks get whipped by them is my native american name ....
congrats on the boat ramp fun my friend , many a solid fish hang around them areas ....

Hybrid stripers would be my favorite fish if I could find them on a regular basis. They are so strong and never give up. Lucky you didn't hook a 10#er, you might still be there fighting it.
