    Default Dinner maybe?

A good sized front is supposed to be passing through and sometimes the fish feed hard as it arrives. I slept in and didn’t get out of bed til after 7, very late for me. Probably dropped in around 9 and it was windy. The Nanofil got blown around bad today, and I had to focus on line control if I wanted to feel what’s going on. But it worked. I wanted some fresh fillets for dinner and while I really had to work at em, I found enough for mom and I to have a good dinner and maybe some leftovers. Now those were crappie, but the star fighters today were the coppernose visitors I had. I could tell what they were right after the first hit, and they all went back for another time.

Now as you can see, I had to put down the Nanofil and pick up the 4lb and a 1/32 to get things done. I switched back and forth some, and tusseled with a couple of cats. One slimed my line before he said goodbye unseen and the other unceremoniously pulled three times, wrapped me around something and broke my line, which I didn’t retie. Felt pretty large from the pulls and head shakes, and I had absolutely no control of him. You know conditions are tough when I break out the cheap rigs and heavy ( 4lb) line. Thanks for coming along. Dinner will be tomorrow and I’m looking forward to it as it’s been a minute since I’ve cooked any. Here’s one more pic of an honorable mention, and he wasn’t the smallest. The little one was a Warmouth that was sub 3” that hit the little jigs on the braid. I didn’t get his pic but it looked like one of Gillchasers friends he shows sometimes. Hope y’all get out soon…. Thanks for the ride along, for sure. Great pic. of some nice fish. Glad you got out for a good time. Still a mite bit cold up here for me. Joints and cold don't get along at all, and really don't want to feel miserable trying to enjoy my past time. I'll get out and get some soon though.

Oh man those coppernose look awesome. Those would be a lot of fun even if you hadn’t caught any crappie but I’m glad dinner will be served soon. Congrats on a fun trip!
