    Default 2-01-23 More Green Fish

I spent a couple hours at the Town pond today .
Mostly cloudy day that approached 60 by the time I left around two.
Light breezes with periods of calm .
I had competition today , a couple of diehard bass fishermen.
I watched them on as they fished around the pond with their baitcasters and big lures .
One of them did catch a small one in one the corners of the dam . Other than that one, I didn’t see them catch anything else .
I used my 6’3” Abu Garcia Mass Beat paired with a 1000 Legalis LT, loaded with 6# Daiwa G8 braid and four pound leader .
I fished light homemade spinners for over thirty minutes without a bite , then switch over to a 1/32 jig and Sowbug Trout Magnet. I caught three in the next hour and then switched to a green/black TM and caught another.
This was probably my last day of experimenting with braided line .
I’ll be going back to using my 2# and 3# P-line Flouroclear .
The braid was ok . It seems like it blows in the wind worse than mono . And I’m tired of having to deal with leaders .
    My best three today .

Great catch. I use to have to switch out when using Sow Bug at Nickajack....those green fish really like that color and I would be after Gills.

Those are good fish, just big enough to give a good fight and then go back home. Glad you got out.
