Caught some nice ones. Thanks for sharing
Met my fishing buddy around noon today at our favorite reservoir.
Weather was cloudy to partly cloudy and a cool 44 when I left the house, windy and partly cloudy and 47 when we reached the lake
Our first stop , the upper most boat ramp , the water was up from last week and looked like chocolate milk.
We fished for an hour + without a bite and moved two boat ramps downstream on the creek arm we were fishing .
A good move , the water was a lot clearer .
On about my fifth or sixth cast , I felt a light tap on my 1/64th Trout Magnet head with a black Bobby Garland Itty Bitty Swim’r , and set the hook .
The drag on my little Shimano Nasci 500 sang out protecting the 2# P-line Flouroclear.
My 5’6” St Croix trout series rod was bent in a nice arch as fish criss crossed the dual boat ramps.
It took a couple minutes to land the green fish which I think is a LM , Spotted bass hybrid . It had characteristics of both . I think folks call these meanmouths , but I call it fun.
I also caught a winter time green sunfish . I jigged all around what rocks were within reach for more sunfish but couldn’t find another .
My buddy caught a LM on a roostertail , his favorite lure to keep the skunk off .
The day turned sunny , barely making it to fifty around 4:30 , when headed home .
Another fun day fishing ultralight.
