Default Sun ? What Sun ?

Weather prediction was for the sun to make an appearance around 11 this morning.
I got to the Town pond around 10:30 and it was overcast and 49 degrees . The wind didn’t help , although it wasn’t a constant wind , when it blew , it felt like 39 degrees .
I was determined and hopeful the sun would could out and the fishing would improve over yesterday.
Well , the sun peeked out around noon for less than two minutes and again the last five minutes before I left at 12:30 . The time I should’ve been arriving, but if you want to fish you go when you can .
I took my St Croix 6’6” light action Premier paired with a 1000 Daiwa Fuego LT .
I fished a trout magnet under a float for 95% of the time and caught one shellcracker, one small bluegill and one small bass about 11-12” .
    Better than yesterday .

Thanks , the bass and the shellcracker gave a good battle on the 6’6” light power , fast action rod .
I’ve found I need to go to a light action rod when fishing over 6’ to get the same feel and bend . Ultralight rods over six feet get a little whippy and don’t cast as good .
Although I do own a couple Daiwa 7’ ultralights that are a little faster than this 6’6” light .
Every manufacturer has its own way of measuring the action and power .

Oh , the sun came out when I got home.
It’s 62 and sunny at the moment.
Just got home from taking my wife out to eat , for her birthday.
First time we’ve eaten out since Covid .

Ive got an 8’ 3” Yamaga Blanks Blue Current TZ UL that is rigid as a broom stick. I rarely use it but I can tell you it would make a fantastic vertical jigging rod for crappie or bluegill.
