Default Do Gills bite better on Sunny days ?

I’ve always thought cloudy days were great days to fish . Guess that’s from my days of chasing the green fish (LM) .
Never noticed it as much as I have the last couple of years , but it seems cloudy days are slow .
This morning I got the skunk !
The day before Yesterday was partly cloudy , but it was after the sun came out that I caught a couple of nice gills .
I think creek gills seem less affected .
Anyone else notice this . Or am I just having bad days .

Yeah , I read crappie bite better on cloudy days , because they have an advantage over shad and minnows . But bluegill are more bug feeders .
I think since gills are part of the diet of bigger fishes , I think they try to hide in low light conditions.

I’ve found that partly cloudy days do pretty good around here. I think that approaching fronts dictate whether cloudy days are boom or bust. I’ve had stellar overcast days. My thought is that fish can be more predictable on sunny days when they seek shade. Crappie are definitely that way. I fish some bridges that don’t turn on til the sun gets high and sends them into the shade. Overcast days the bridge shade never really turns on.

    Skeet,

I totally agree. Sun makes fish location much more predictable.

Cloud cover is often the enemy , as stated sunshine makes fish predictable.
Of course bright sunshine makes fish look for cover , but again it makes them highly predictable.
