    Default Monday Meet up

Met my fishing buddy at the lake this morning. Another beautiful weather morning.
It was 66 when I left the house this morning but was mid 70’s by the time we got to the lake .
A nice breeze blowing in made casting our flyrods .
For some unknown reason, fishing was tough today .
I only caught two green sunfish out of the eighteen gills and bass caught . My buddy only caught ten .
None were big , but one was interesting. I’m not sure if this is a redbreast or some type of hybrid .
It s has a elongated body . I was thinking redbreast were more rounded .
    Pretty fish either way .

Met up with my fishing buddy this morning.
Water has started dropping at the reservoir. About a 1 1/2’ lower than last week.
A lot of the riprap was dry .
I took a Tenkara rod and a couple of UL spinning rods .
I ended up catching 15 , mostly small green sunfish on the Tenkara rod .
With the 5’4” St Croix panfish spinning combo . I hooked three bass and managed to land one . These little spotted bass are fighters , quick to jump and throw the hook . Lot of fun on an UL.
My buddy caught 25 including a nice green sunfish he released without taking a picture because it wasn’t as big as the bigger one he caught a couple of weeks ago .
I would have snapped the pic .
A fun day as always fishing with a friend .
Look at the tail on the one in the gloved hand . If these things grew to five pounds , you’d need saltwater tackle to land one .

All of the ponds, lakes , and creeks around here are low .
But I think that’s about to change by the end of the week .
